Without action a goal is just a dream
The title came to me during a morning run. Exercise often provides blog ideas, I get time to think without distraction.
People will say they want to achieve something or be somewhere in the future. But unless you take action, and it’s easy not to, you won’t reach your target.
My original idea was “a goal is just a dream without a plan”. It changed when I realised knowing what you need to do, and doing it are not the same.
You have to commit to the plan, which means action. Be realistic; are you going to do it? If not ditch the goal. You have to be honest with yourself.
Later you may need a change of direction. Is this goal still worth the effort? Is it still achievable? Is it less important now? All are valid reasons to abandon or pause your plan.
My life goal is to remain fit, healthy and motivated for as long as possible.
I will achieve this by monitoring my diet, exercising, removing negativity, and rewarding myself. Everytime I complete a run, ride, or remain positive I acknowledge it.
I want to encourage others to follow me, but hesitate because I don’t think telling people what to do will work. If asked I will discuss my course, and how it has affected me. Hopefully that will be enough for some to start on their own journey.
If you want a jersey, let me know. ;-)
