Luck preparation and weakness
A good friend of mine gave me a flip book showing daily thoughts. I reveal the day’s quote as I walk past on my way to the kitchen each morning. Two recent examples are above.
The first could reference a post I wrote about negativity and not allowing the demotivating influence of people or social media. If I take on their stress and anger it starts to control me. It isn’t always easy, I can’t ignore those in need of an ear to listen, or a shoulder to lean on.
The second is maybe subject to interpretation. Let me explain.
I am lucky with the experiences I have; bikepacking, running challenges, travel, meeting family and friends etc.
The preparation is the exercise I do. It means I am fit enough to take part, and my mind is clearer. Stress is dealt with and isn’t allowed to build in a way that hampers me; I try to keep it in check.
I recognise the opportunuties I have and take them.
Sometimes I may seem more positive than I feel. It’s not a front I put on, it’s the way I cope. If I dwell on what’s not going right I might miss what is good.
One last thought.
